Not to big,It should idle o.k. on a 114. My T-Rex is bigger than that 609"/614"-242/248-109 and it idles grate ,with the right tune.

You were way low on power with that 224/224 cam seems like. I too have a bigger cam that has a pretty tame idle. 244/248 on a 115 though. Still 15° of overlap.

That should be a nice cam for your set up. I've got a 228/230 XER on a 112. My heads are AS Stg 2 unmilled and I had to notch my pistons, only had .045 clearance.

Yeah, your clearance will be low. I left my clearance WAY too tight, but set my rev limiter low (6600). Probably can't fit that cam, since my 224 left me with .050" PTV. But you can rent a flycutting tool for $150, or buy the parts for $140 and use your old head to do it.

You'll have a driveable car, for sure. Here's my dyno graph from yesterday:

i kind of thought it was low also but the engine has been transplaned into a thirdgen with a 700r4 with a total custom exhaust set up. So there are not alot of cars out there to compair with.

at the time of the dyno there were a few other issues the car had. a bad knock senser and O2. i also dont know how well the tune is done. (only had the car for about 2 weeks before the dyno)

what is a safe distance to have for piston to valve.

also is it possable to do flycutting with the heads off but the engine still in the car?

and one last thing. what is a safe depth to flycut a stock piston?

Clearance necessary= .080 intake, .100 exhaust. You can cut at least up to .100, but unless it's a real big cam .060-.080 will do. Notching with the engine in the car is the way everyone does it, unless the engine is out for another reason.

yea, i have a 224/224 .581/.581 112lsa with a lid, headers and true duals. with no other mods besides pushrods, spings/retainers and i made ~380.

i would think you would have alot more power with your 224 cam....did make that power with the heads and ls6 intake?

hmm... on a M6, with that cam and those mods you should be at 375 minimum....with an a4 you should still be at like 360-365 i would think at the minimum

i dont think it makes a big dif but its a 700r4. it was also running in the lowest timing tables because of the bad sensor. right now i am more intrested in if the new cam and heads will work well together

and i only said 410, because you dyno'd low before, so i think it will be low again. and this way, you can plan for 410, and only be happy when the numbers are higher since i dont see it being any lower than that
