Most cams with teh A4 cars will need tuning, or will at least benefit by tuning.

I am in the same boat, but i think i'm gonna bite the bullet and just ger Edit, then get whichever cam I please!

I would recommend the MTI B1 cam. That's what I'm using, it's great with my 3500 stall, didn't really need tuning at all to run right (but it helps), and it's very driveable with a very nice power gain.

The TR 220 will meet that requirement.

The hot cam will work but the 220/220 will make more power and be milder at idle.

im iffy with my 224/224 114 comp XE cam from LS1SPEED... I like it some days, but then its others where i get sick of the cam surge and funky idle.

If i did it over again I'd probably go with a 220 or 222 cam on a 114 LSA

A4's are hit and miss with cams.. come idle perfect, some idle better with tuning, but some always have slight idle issues..

well i agree that 224 is the max i would go for a daily driver. the 221 is really nice esp on the 114 LSA. i have a 230/230 on 111 LSA in my auto! LOL

surge? oh yea. actually runs really smooth in park or neutral but lots of programing time. i am really close to getting it decent in neutral though

As you can see by the responses above.

Look for something in the 220 up to the 224 range.

Those cams have put down some good numbers both at the track and run well on the street.

There is a lot of cam info on my web page.

Check it out... it might help you make a decisions.

Good luck.

I have the 224/224 on a 112 in my car and I love it. The only thing I had to do when I changed from a M6 to a A4 was drill the TB hole a little bigger and raise the idle.

No surging or stuff like that with my car.

Stay away from the hotcam, i run a 230/230 592/592 @110 in my auto but i have plenty of tuning to go with it.I had the hammer cam in it before i and like it alot. That cam would be perfect for you.all i had to do for that cam was drill the throttle body with a 13/64 bit and it idled at 600 rpms all day long.
