Default Cam Guru's Help For 383

So I have a brand new Magic stick 4 that i was going to put in my 346 but have since decided to go with a forged 383. Knowing that the extra cubes will "soak up" alot of the cam. What cam duration and lift #'s would approximately match my MS4's radical idle, powerband, etc in a 383? In other words please give me some cam specs to go by that will both still sound nasty in a 383 and give big power while acting like a MS4 in a 346 < if that makes any sense I will be using PRC LS6 stage 2.5 heads and the engine should come in at 11:1 compression. Predator?, Patrick G ? Others? Thanks for any input! its custom grind time I'm sure.

Seems to me there was a similiar question posed in here recently, but my short term memory has been acting up so I'll root around some BUT I THINK it was said that for every 50 cubes you should/can add 10 degrees duration to said cam spec.

Here ya go.........similiar but not exactly the same.....

We have our TX Giant that you could throw in your 383. Its a 248/254, .622"/.614" on a 112LSA. You'll definitely know it's there. It would make some good power and have plenty of lope to it. We sell quite a few of these with our 402/408 motors. I have sold a couple of these to guys with 383s as well.

Thanks man, Is the lower lift due to the fact that with wider duration you dont need as much lift to get the job done? My magic stick 4 is BRAND NEW! never seen anything other than my hands to look at it! Would you guys consider a direct swap or exchange? Especially if i bought the shortblock from you?

Dont I know it! I just had a buddy with patriot stage 2 heads with a MS4 on a stock 347 short block in a 6-spd car with a 9-inch, NA go 10.9 full-weight. Just got a great combo with great suspension! So i figure my car with PRC LS6 stage 2.5's with a 383 and just as good of suspension set-up should make him a bit nervous!

Hey Predator, In all this time on the boards I JUST NOW noticed that you live in DUBAI ? WHOLLY HECK MAN! You are NOT just around the corner my friend. Were you born there? If I'm not meddling to much what is your life situation ie: how did you end up there if you are not a natural born citizen? I here it is a BEAUTIFUL and very well maintained country!

We can swap it out for you. The intake uses the XE-R lobes but the exhaust is not. If you decide to switch, just send it back and we'll get the Giant out to you.

Thanks Brian! Hmmm I wonder what a custom texas giant would be like? Say a 248/254, .649"/.614" on a 112LSA with LSK lobes Now that WOULD have to go on a 408! Wait...with that much duration AND lift what would that cam even act like? it would be wierd having all that duration AND lift!
