Speed Inc. H/C results...
After 1.5 bottles of nitrous ran through the car I wanted to go a different direction. So I sold the nitrous kit and got in touch with Larry over at Speed Inc.
I decided on a H/C package that consisted of "budget" Patriot cnc'd 243 casting heads and Speed's SI6(232/240 .595/.610 lsa 110) off the shelf cam. Basically the cam is real close to a G5X2 for comparison sake. Also added an SLP underdrive pulley while they were in there.
Car made 432/396 with the new package. Previous dyno results before H/C/pulley were 352/359.
Going into this I knew I wanted somewhat of a larger cam, but not a monster like an MS4/Trex/G5X4. I expected to lose quite a bit of driveability down low, but actually once the car is warmed up I havent had any bucking or surging at all. Cruising home in 5th gear at about 1,400 rpm's felt just like stock. The only downside I can think of right now is that the valvetrain is noticably louder as well as the exhaust. My neighbors are gonna hate when I come home late at night now. Car sounds pretty wicked at idle too.
For spring Im most likely gonna do a Fast 90/90 setup to try and reach my goal of 450 rwhp. 4.10 gears are a possiblilty too, but the car drives so well with the stock 3.42's that I may just keep them.
If anyone wants I will post dyno sheets later.

You should never ditch the juice (how did you kick the habit). Anyway, nice set up. That is a pretty big cam but it layed down some nice numbers. It doesn't surprise me at all that the car runs drives fine with it though. Some people are just to conservative when it comes to those things.

Not only that but ive seen guys with MS3's and that size Cam's run and idle just fine with a good tune. I really think the "bucking" and what not can all be cured with a great tune. However once you go over a certain point in cam size then it gets tougher.

ls1 Jeff, you say you have an 00 FRC so that means you're making those numbers off of an LS1 intake? I know a lot of people put the LS6 on their cars and forget to mention it. If you are running a LS1 still, you're leaving a lot of hp on the table. I'm about to do some PRC ported LS6 heads with a 228/232 with a 112+4 lsa and I made sure to pick up a LS6 intake for optimal low end tq and decent top end power.

I should have clarified. My car has an LS6 manifold along with a Shaner TB. Headers are FLP longtubes/offroads/x-pipe with a Corsa pace car exhaust. I also have a Vararam intake.
Anyone think I can hit 450rwhp with a Mamo ported FAST 90 and a Shaner p&p LS2 TB?

Here is a vid of the car idling. Idle is set at 950rpm.

Thats nice bro. I'm hoping to make at least that. I just installed my Patriot CnC'd 243s but my cam is more like a G5X3. Next time someone else can put them on though.

Man, you guys are really on me about the spray! Not one post at corvetteforum did anyone say I need to get back on the juice. Just shows the different personalities between message boards.
Orange, your cam is MUCH bigger than mine and I would expect some slight driveablility problems with a monster like that.
Thanks Chris. Better have the fridge stocked.
