Default 04 Escalade heads on 02 LS1?

Just like the title says, I can get my hands on a set of 2004 Escalade 6.0L heads. Will they work on my 01 LS1? I'm completely illiterate when it comes to the internals of a motor. I want this to be a street/strip car with SICK all motor power. It is not a daily driver, but I would still like decent street manners for the occasional cruise. Also, if it will work, what Thunder cam would be good with it? The reason I want Thunder is because I currently have a Thunder 224/224 on a 114 that has never been installed and am going to try to swap it out for a different cam. I would like to run 3.73 gears and stick with a 26 inch tire. I currently have MAC mid-length headers and no internal engine work. Any help would be great!

i realize it will lower compression, but is there any way to counter that and make serious power? Im shooting for around 450 NA. A friend of mine has them and I know he will hook me up, just want to have a plan together before I throw money away like that.

Yea, a 6.0 casting by itself is not going to be a power house head. By the time you mill the head down enough to get the compression up, you won't have much P/V clearence. You should start looking for the 243 heads if you want a nice stock, bolt-on casting.

alright, that answers my question.. thanks guys! Looks like I'll be sticking with my original plan of either AFR or Trickflow heads and trying to find a cam to match. My goal is just a 450-500 rwhp NA car that can be driven anywhere. Any suggestions are welcome!

For that power range, you'll deffinatlly need a nice ported casting like the ones you mentioned.

My goal for the car is a daily driveable, 450 rwhp car with a mean *** cam lope. I just need to find out how I can achieve that, so I can start buying the parts as I get the money. Are there any sponsors on here that give good advice and have the patience enough to explain something to somebody like me that doesnt know exactly what I need? I realize that other mods are necessary to handle the power, but I already have the transmission and rear end covered. The fuel system is the only thing I am worried about. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Yeah I just went into the L92 stick and found it..

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...9&page=3&pp=30

post #64, these heads need at least a 4 inch bore to work.. need a 6.0 liter truck block or LS2 block.

probably would as long as the ring seal etc is up to par. You can find a lot of H/C cars, their power and their setup, in the dyno section should give you real results with a few different combos.
