pictures of t-stat mod:

Thermostat

Where to put spacer in housing

How t-stat is assembled

example of spacer

where spacer is placed, assembled t-stat

a .090" spacer will give a ~170' temp, and I was thinking an 1/8-inch was ~160'.

- I got those from TECH-LS1 by the way. This was originally Steve's thermostat modification.

On the coupler mod "-Fernco coupler mod (3"x3")"
I used a 3x4". It seemed to fit better. I could not get a 3x3 to fit. Just FYI.

Remove your air pump, block off the air tubes. It's under the drivers headlight.

Saves about 7lbs and cleans up the engine compartment quite bit.

From what I have seen it allows the stock exhaust manifold to flow better by gutting it.

I've never been a big fan of the throttle body bypass mod, as I feel that since the throttle body doesn't get hot in steady highway driving, or with repeated back to back passes down the strip, that bypassing the coolant through it won't help performance in any way at all.

i dont know if the tb bypass works performance wise, but there is a temp difference. In my many attempts to put a fernco tube between the tb and maf, ive felt my tb plenty hot even after only driving around little (ambients around here at the time were 85-90+), and after i did the bypass i can cruise or hot rod for an extended amount of time and set my hand on the tb right after i stop and it isnt hot to the touch. maybe its just me. i dont know.

Most people will say that the air doesn't touch the tb long enough to get heated by it. I say every little bit helps some how.
