I guess what I was trying to say is that with a Boosted car, there are more componenets so it seems to me that more things have the potencial to go wrong or overlooked. Just easyer with N/A IMHO. Maybe not cheaper, but easyer.
As far as which one will win? Depends on the driver I would have to day. A boosted car is a lot more sensative to slow shifting then an NA car, at least from my experience. So if you shift slow, and let the boost fall on everu gear change, the same driver would probobly go faster in the NA car. If it's an auto then I think the boosted car will win due to higher torque.
But that is easy to find out. I can run mid 10's all day N/A. What do 500RWHP boosted 6spd cars at 3325#s run? Not being a dick, I honestly never checked.

If all those other variables are equal, I guess it just would be the difference in area under the curve and how it relates to traction.
Anyone have dyno graphs of the two different setups to compare?

have any of you visited the fi section on this site?
you can do an sts rearmount and achieve your 500 hp lvl or close to it on about 7-8lbs
all this with stock heads intake and cam on what i believe is the base t61 turbo, and hey if you want the most bang for your buck you can also upgrade your fuel pump or use a boostapump new injectors, and ofcourse a tune.whats the install time on this kits...................... Bottom line is 500rwhp for an fi detup esp if its a turbo is very old news and fairly easy to obtain.

Best argument for N/A so far, at least in this thread. Listen up folks, GAMETECH is right. N/A wins. Weight advantage or in FI's case disadvantage is everything from the dig. From a roll the weight issue isn't nearly as large a factor. JMHO of course.

its pains me to no end and for some reason i felt completed to speak up in this thread but now i realize that most of you know little to nothing about turbos .The TQ output of a Tubro compaired to that of N/A is quite a bit. Understand a turbo engine weights the same as a N/A engine, the added weight comes from the turbo or fi system and as a rule of thumb its 10hp per 100lbs which is more than what most turbo systems weight. Therefore if you pull into play the excess amount of TQ a turbo makes over am N/A engine, and understanding its 1/4 and not top end racing (if you are figuring that because of the added weight of the fi system 100lbs= -10hp making it 490fi vs 500 n/a due to weight ), it really is a no brainer. whoever is making the best usable power will win... 100lbs in weight vs 30-40rwtq.. if you check the fi section its common to see 100 more rwtq than the rwhp numbers, oh and i'll say it again Turbo would win.

Id say FI over n/a 346 (due to FI better power under the curve)
but
stroker n/a over FI (due to stroker better power under the curve)
I think that the better average hp or power under the curve will win every time.

v8hunter nice respone
I agree
i would need to see some dyno numbers to see the power curve of a 500hp stroke and compare that to that of a 500 hp turbo
anyone want to dig some up in there respectful sections?
are we comparing v6 turbo vs n/a ls1 at the same power lvl?
what is it eveyone wants to compared? stock cube vs stock cube?
stroker vs stroker? or stock vs stroker?
