Default Best place to set preload on springs?

OK, tried to mounted the rockers without any shims and it takes almost two full turns after the pushrod is finger tight...here's what I need to know. What is the ideal place to shim the rockers to? Half a turn after the pushrod is finger tight? Any ideas also on which shim to try first..the .030?

Don't do it. You need to get shorter pushrods. I would experiment by grinding one of your stock pushrods down, until you get it right. Then order some some Smith Bros or other venders.

GM Racing tells me that shimming the rockers will weaken the valvetrain. Something about the rocker system being part of the structure of the cylinder head/valvetrain.

Well I used .060 shims and got a quick "how to" on setting the valves. I have it at one full turn with the shims after the pushrods are finger tight...so far so good.
