Re: Holley Annihilator/Commander
I thought I saw a test of this in one of the recent magizines. It was on a SuperStock car or something, might have been an Lt1. From what they said, it worked pretty good...but If you have had anything to do with magizines before, only 40% of the info they give ya is correct <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0"> The other 60% comes from advertising motives! Id like to see some actual data too!

No, but in a drag only application, or retrofitting the ls1 to something else, that looks cool as hell. Besides tuning capability, I wonder what that has to offer over stock electronics. Is it a hotter spark (I dont think any has shown a need for that yet). Too bad it won't do the other things that we need a computer for.

It can do this:
fuel delivery, spark timing, boost compensation, fuel pump, cooling fan, true idle quality and more
What else are you looking for in an aftermarket computer?

Re: Holley Annihilator/Commander
you have to use both units. I know the Annihilator you can order from Summit for only 2500 bucks! lol The Commander has to be at least 1500
I think its for S/E cars.

I have used the holly unit before (or tuned one); it's great if all you are concerned about is WOT performance in a race car. It starts to run into problems when you want to make it work in a street ride.
Don't get me wrong - it can be made to work. You can get around most of the guage, etc. issues by running it piggy-back with the stock computer.
But
1) It simply doesn't have as advanced a level of tuning correction factors, tables, etc. as something like SpeedPro/Fast, or MoTeC.
2) Piggy back is a PITA if you don't have a pre-made harness
3) All around it's just not as robust as the other packages mentioned.
Entry level to whatever I have to agree with JS - Fast (SpeedPro) is really the only way to go. The WB option alone makes it worthwile. You will probably pay 1200 or so for just the unit/flying lead harness, and tack another 600 on if you want WB, and another 600 if you want sequential (not worth it). There will also be another charge for whatever the custom harness it (well worth it, trust me - if it's a quality piece).
Starting at around 2000-2200 you can get into the MoTeC line, but the price will shoot up dramatically as you throw in add ons. This is much more powerfull, but also more complicated (than the speedpro).
