Do crank underdrive pullies hurt the durability of the engine over time?
I've asked this before (not on this board) but never really got good answer. I've asked a SAM school grad, he said it won't hurt IF the motor was properly balanced, however if the engine isn't well balanced over time it could.
The bottom line: Is the typical factory stock block LS1 or LS1 with heads and cam balanced well enough that a lighter underdrive pulley won't hurt the engine over the long haul?
I've been thinking ASP but I don't want to buy something that might tear the engine up.
Thanks

As long as your pulley in correctly installed, SEATED PROPERLY, and not damaged you should have no problems.
I ran a set of ASP pullies on my 98 for over 20K without one single problem.
Go for it!
