If you get the heads and cam from TSP tell me and I can take them to EP this next week, if you're planning on doing it pretty soon to save you on shipping.

What's his #? where are they located at?

I was wanting to get a Torquer V2 with my 5.3L heads.. They are milled 0.030.
Predator recommended a custom 226/230, .585/.592 110+1 XE-R. I trust that PredatorZ knows what he is talking about, but Texas Speed told me I shouldn't go any bigger than a 224/224 .581/.581 110 (which is the one I bought).

I made 410/390 on with the 5.3 heads (ported and polished) and the TSP 224 cam. This is with a stock intake and stock pulley. I was really impressed with the power increase considering the heads and cam I chose.

Of course if I did it again I would have chosen an LS2 402 set up. But, from experience, the 5.3L heads flow really damn well and pack quite a punch. If you don't mind flycutting your pistons and putting a little bigger cam in their (not an MS4, though). I could see 450+ hp in your future.

Just my .02.

Wait. why not the MS4? You only made 410hp w heads/ and the cam??? I've seen people make just about that with only cam. Right now i have a 224/224 .581/.581 115 comp cam and it roughly puts out 370 hp and 367tq. I am shooting for 425+ hp and 400+ tq......

I have the ms3 and the 5.3 1.5 heads from TEA and made 439 rwhp untuned with the a/f not reading that day.

Buddy of mine sent his ls6 heads to Brian at TEA and he ported them and he made 450 rwhp with them and a ms4. The magic sticks can make great power, just call the head porter and tell him the cam and he can get the heads to where they need to be.

Both sets of heads were milled and did require flycutting of pistons though. Flycutting the pistons isn't that big of a deal as some people make it out to be. Hell I got mine done for a bill and he came to my house and had it done in 30 mins.

They told you not to go with a bigger cam for the ptv clearance because you were afraid of flycutting it sounds like. 5.3 heads milled with big valves and make some great power...but what do I know...I have 5.3 heads with a ms3.

By all means i am not judging your knowledge, i am only asking to increase mine, that is all.

Well afraid yes, but afraid of extra labor, possible problems and cost though. Plus I have no clue how you would flycut the pistons, what special tools and **** like that. I don't know why i just assumed it was going to be expensive and the pistons were comming out.

I SWEAR I'll call Brian at TEA. I've been super busy studing for a damn test tomorrow.

the labor isn't bad at all if you have a shop do it IF you have the heads pulled already. Then they just have to flycut the pistons (and only the intake at that more than likely). The isky flycutting tool is what the guy who did mine used. I know another guy up in MN that did his own and was going to ship me the tool and junk head for me to use but I got hooked up with the guy who did mine and he did it fast and very reasonable. I don't know if there are any performance shops in CS you can go to, or if you are doing all the work in your garage etc.

If you do have a means to trailor the car to a shop to just get the pistons flycut I would personally do that.

Brian will be there for whenever you call...make sure to have time to talk to him though lo.

flow goes from geatest to least, LS6 good head and havd D shaped exaust ports, LQ9/6.0 flow very well about the same as LS6, and also have D shapedexaust ports, 5.3 heads flow pretty good, and have higher compression, 4.8 fully ported will only flow around 305cfm I would not look at tose.

I would get a good ported set of 6.0 heads, with the MS3. You should be fine with PVC. Ask whoever you get the heads from just to be positive. I would say that would make 450rwhp+. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

6.0L heads??That will lower his compression to 9.4:1 ...Ported LS6 243 heads just like TSP suggested is the way to go with the MS4 or MS3...

They weld in the combuston chamber to raise comp ratio.
