Compression and how it effects idle???
My main question is...
For example i have some svo 30lbs injectors.. which is what about 360-38 at our fuel pressure.
My car runs on stock programming with a MAFT.
The cam is a 226 234 are deal with stage 2 heads.
Basicly with what i had before i had about 9.9-1 compression.
The car should have about 10.7-10.9-1 now.
How will this effect idle? will it be better? will it use the extra fuel more efficently?
In most cases actually adding some base timing at idle will help alot. does compression do the same?
Also any sound difference with such an increase?
thanks

Re: Compression and how it effects idle???
It's not that it'll use the extra fuel more efficiently that makes it idle better with higher compression (your idle mixture should still be 14.7:1 in closed loop since it's controlled by the O2 sensors and the ECM no matter what injectors you have so long as it's not out of the range of the ECM's adjustability which it isn't in the case of your injectors if you have the MAFT adjusted anywhere close to where it should be)...it's that an engine with higher compression will have higher vacuum.
