I have been thinking the same thing. I think I might just stay with my 5w30 synthetic year round.

If you mixed a quart of 0-30 with a quart of 10-30 do you get 5-30?

I think it`s perfect for Chicago winter... I`m running it now. And I ran it at the track...

Do not mix viscosities. The math does not work liek that. This can be prettty bad for the engine. I personally will never use Mobil 1, only AMSOIL 4 LIFE!! Mobiul 1 gets too thinnned out, espeically in hot weather on longer trips. AMSOIL has given me a consistent oik pressure of around 41 even when beating on the engine.

Amsoil 0-30 for over a year now with over 120 1/4th mile passes and no problems.

The nice little old lady who owns Courtesy Chevrolet (where I bought my cars) took me aside when I picked up the Z28 and told me specifically to use Mobil 1 10W30 and nothing else. Then again, this is San Diego, where the only ice on the road is from somebody's spilled Margarita...

1badls1bird, For some reason I am thinking you are from the SC area? And you go to the U? If so where are you getting your Amsoil products? I work at SCU and just bought a new ws6 T/A and would like to use the Amsoil line but dont know where to get it localy. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks Much!

AMSOIL 0-30 here (obviously). No problems, run it at the track too, no blowby, no excessive useage, oil temps are always nice and low, and it flows terrific at startup. We routinely get 85-90+ here in SW Ohio in the summers and I have never had a problem with it. Ran it in my Silverado (5.3) for a year and 23K and it still was usable based on analysis, and use it in my wife's tahoe for one year intervals with no problem.

I also run Amsoils 0w-30. My oil pressure at idle is around ~48psi and goes up from there depending upon rpm. My car also doesnt use very much oil. I think last year I may have had to add a quart in 6000 miles and I had about 100 runs at the track.
