a ported or descreened MAF with a stock one or with a new 85mm version.
I finally dynoed today for the first time.
99 TA A4 3.23, with Direct-flo, descreened and ported stock MAF, mildly ported TB, crank pulley, and Borla cat-back.
310.5 HP and 328.7 TQ (SAE) I'd like to see about 5-8 more on each for what I've got.
My graph started getting pretty jagged around 4750 rpm on up to 6200 on both tq and hp. Sorry, no way to show it and don't have a laptop for Atap yet.
This was on a Dynojet.
I can't hear any audible knock inside the car but the dyno guy said he could hear it before I shut down.
Suggestions? I know some people were turning their MAFs backwards and having some success but I was wondering if this was a hit or miss thing or even a good idea.
Also I had a sharp dip at 3400 rpm of about 10hp and maybe 23tq. Any ideas???
Thanks!

Get a MAF Translator and AutoTap. Then you will be able to tune your AFR and eliminate the detonation. Either that or go back to a stock MAF.
