BIG PROBLEM!! read and help if possible please
well guys heresthe deal...i was driving around not beating on the car and the car all of a sudden at 45 mph starts to bog and shake even when i wasnt touching the gas pedal....we get it home and take out the snap on computer and cylinders 5 and 7 are off the board with misfires...we pull the plugs....theyre covered in fuel....no chance to do a compression test yet...but what do you guys think the problem might be....any help is GREATLY appreciated, we will be wrenching in the meantime to see if anything else is broken....will check in soon, ideas NEEDED!!!
thanks

If your plugs are covered with fuel, then you are not getting any spark. Check the plug wires, check the coil packs, check the pack harness connection.
I'm betting on the wires being faulty or loose based on what you are describing.

Flashing can mean major misfire action going on.
I wonder if your MAF is messed up. Those little wires are pretty sensitive.
Good nite I will check the thread tomorrow morning.

Do you have access to autotap or any means of logging it? Specifically check for the MAF reading - this is your primary determinant in fuel metering.
Do the plugs/cylinders even get warm?

minty,
Your MAF may have suffered damage from the styrofoam block incident. Try running in Speed density mode and see if the misfires go away.

wish that was the case but afraid not guys, i tried a different MAF and to no avail....oh well, the car is gone for the year now....
Could a couple of injectors have decided to take a dump all at the same time? I had one do that. Started running like a miss, felt real flat in one cylinder. Pulled the plugs and number 5 plug was all wet with fuel. No SES light though. Replaced the injector and no more probs. What mods do you have? Running a big dose of dry N2O?
Let’s see here. 5&7 are next to each other mechanically. They’re getting gas/spark. Me thinks it's time for a compression test. Initial prognosis; head gasket.
