Will misfires be an issue with a comp 212/218 cam?
Here is what I am having Ed Wright do to the PCM in my A4 98 TA:
_________________________________________________
1. Adjust fuel curves and timing for cam/head/ headers install (if nessesary)
2. Delete A.I.R. code (getting rid of AIR pump)
3. Delete EGR code (because of useing an LS6 intake)
4. Delete random misfire PO300 code
5. Delete torque management
6. Delete rear O2 sensor codes (useing FLP headers)
7. Set shift points to 6,300
8. Set rev limiter to 6,700
9. Set fan turn-on to 190 degrees
10. Set speed limiter to 170 mph
11. Increase idle 100 rpm
I believe deleteing the random misfire codes will solve the trans lock-up problems
Anyone... Correct me if I am wrong

I had ed wright program the pcm and it hasnt done it since.
<strong>I have that comp 212/218 along with a Yank 3000 and I can tell you that yes there will be misfire codes set. I idle right at around 500 rpm in drive, and I will get the stupid P03 ramdom misfire code about once every two days after prolonged idle in traffic. Also, idling that low, there is some surging that comes along with tc.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I had the exact same problem with that cam and a ST3500 in a stock head no headder A4 98Z. I got in the habit of popping it in neutral if I was going to be idling for any length of time and giving at a little gas to get the idle up a bit. It got to be a real PITA. I wish there was a really cheap way to just up the idle speed on a A4 car. The problem with adjusting the idle stop screw to up the idle speed seems to make the surging worse as the IAC tried to idle it back down lower.

What do you need to have removed from the PCM to get rid of this?
