Big thumbs up man! I hate taking my cars to shops for installations. When it comes time for my cam install i'm thinking of trying it but might puss out. Threads like this give me hope! My cuts are still healing from my header install

Car runs fine as a DD with minor surging once and a while or if you drive the car before it warms up all the way like if I pull it out of my garage to let it warm up ill get some surging but after warm up its fine. As far as my dyno #'s they were only 362 unlocked but I was playin with my brothers built LT1 on the highway today he has a stalled auto also that put down 392 RWHP and I was able to pull him I thought that was kinda wierd.....but at least I know the car must put down decent power should the converter be locked up.

Yeah i know when they told me i could be pushing close to or just about 400hp i just wanted to go buy one right then and there. But then again after spending so much on a dyno tune i think i'll calm down for alittle till the funds come back up.

But i do have to say that anyone who has considered doing a cam install should atleast attempt it once before they decide not to. As long as you follow the instructions on LS1 How To and use the helpful tips you can find on this site theres no reason why you can't do it. It is a tough job that will get you pretty pissed occassionally but at the end its so much worth it. 1. Because you did a cam swap to your OWN car and nobody else did it for you. So you can say proudly you did it yourself. 2. You will have saved yourself tons of money by doing it yourself rather than paying a shop to do it. Now im not saying that shops have no idea what they are doing or that they rip you off. If you do not have the time whatsoever because of work, family, etc. Then by all means go ahead and have a shop do it. But if you got the time, patience, and mechanical knowledge to do it. Then pull out your tools and get to work.

I got a question for you guys, I noticed that everytime i go WOT whether its for a few seconds or go through the gears that my oil pressure at idle is a tad bit lower than what it was before i went WOT. It eventually goes back to where it was before but i was just wondering if anybody with a stock cam or upgraded cam has noticed that. It happened with both my stocker and MS3.

But thats the thing it would happen when i had the LS1 pump on. The car rides fine with no problem. I just noticed that oil pressure would be a tad bit lower after a WOT run. Just wondering if that would happen to anyone else.
