Anybody using 6.125" rods to increase the piston dwell???

no they are not

6.098"

I know ARE has built quite a few motors with the 6.125" rods. Pretty sure PSJ has/had them

I know they are being used, if i decide to get pistons and rods from ARE for the build up i'm going that route <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Yup, using the 6.125 helps get you back to the stock rod ratio when you stroke it.

Visceral is pretty much right.

I had a set of forged Dyer 6.125 rods. Perhaps check with Nick @ ARE I traded them in to him.

JE makes pistons that work with those rods. I had a set.

Stock is 6.098 like Harlan said.

Man we need to get the FAQ up.

THe rod length *most* popular in aftermarket setups is 6.125, but alot of things need to be taken into consideration.
Aftermarket pistons tend to be cheaper if they are not full custom. With JE, I believe that the comression height necessary for 6.125 rod, stock or 4" stroke, and stock bore is not considered custom, and will save you about 3-400$ for a set.

I have a *really* nice set of Oliver billet I beam rods left over from another project, but they are 6.000". I will need custom pistons to run them (.125 more compression height than a 6.125 rod), but since I am thinking stock stroke, the Rod/Stroke ratio should remain ooooookay...

ThunderRacing has the stock bore/stroke/compression height/deck height info on their website in the Piston area.......
