Default Misfire is back - need suggestions

The last time I had my car dynoed back in June, I was getting a horrible misfire at any RPM above 5200. I changed out all the plugs (new TR-6's replacing old TR-6's), and the misfire went away - until yesterday at the track. All my plug wires seemed to be OK (no continuity breaks on any of them, and all are fully seated).

The misfire's back, same RPM (5200+). I tried to log it w/ AutoTap, but of course ATap keeps crashing on my laptop... (do they have a Linux version coming out?! ) Anyway, it feels like only one cylinder is dropping. Assuming all my plug wires are properly seated, is there anything else I should be looking at besides plugs/wires?

I'm going to try to ATap again today (if it's not raining), but off hand, is there anything else besides plugs/wires I should be investigating? This is really starting to **** me off...

Interesting... I have been getting a ton of pinging lately, which I believe to be due to my MAF causing a lean condition. Additionally, I am running a rather smallish plug gap for N/A (.048"). I wonder if it's just too lean with too little gap to fire consistently at high RPM's...

Methinks I'll have a look at the one ATap log I got yesterday and see what the A/F's doing...

1) You might want to make sure that the ends on the NGK's are screwed on tight. I had nothing but trouble with them.

2) Look at the plug and make sure you didn't crack the ceramic when you tightened the plugs.

3) My car doesn't like any gap lower than .050 or it misfires. Last week we had the same problem with a friends car and we opened the gap to .055 and no more misfires.

Hmm I am having the same prob with cylinder #8 but it seems most prevalent once my a/f starts getting leaner.
