Futral F13 / F14 or similar custom cam, help please...
Time to add to the "Cam help" pile of threads... (sorry )
Anyways...I was originally interested in an F14, I like it's overall relative size, but after reading Patrick G's torque thread, I think I'd like something with a bit better torque curve...while retaining a beastly mid/high end pull
So...that leads me on to this question...What would you *smart cam enthusiests* recommend for a car with the current mods in my sig, (plus an underdrive pulley during the cam install) and a couple other small bolt ons...like a "professionally" ported throttle body, LS6 intake...
I think what I'm aiming for would be something in the low 230's, and lift around 600...I'm not afraid of lope...in fact.. it is encouraged
Keep in mind it must retain good(ish) overall street manner's and will primarily be a daily driver... (most of the time) and I don't want to have to have to rev it too high...
Would a lower LSA help with the torque a bit?...like maybe 108, or 110, or whatever...and what lobes would be good too? I don't want anything too incrdibly harsh on the springs...
Thanks in advance

Same cam different LSA/ICL will behave differently, and how can you compare a cam, against another + 90/90?
If the FM14 112 makes more trq and earlier than the specs I gave, I'll eat my........

If i went with a cam with these specs how would it work with heads if down the road I somehow could afford to do that? As it is I just plan on ported TB and a pulley to go with what I have now, maybe a LS6 intake sometime.

The torque curve on my F14 is very good. It made 423 rwtq with Dart heads and cam only did 408 rwtq. I so not see many other cams out there that make more torque than Futral's. I would post up the graph but the site that is hosting it is down. If you also check out the F14 high lift numbers they make more torque than the standard F14.

Don't get in a rush,go to the local tracks and events and talk to people, check out their rides and listen to the cars.Don't hesitate to call Futral-[they do answer the calls]-,LG motor sports,Thunder Racing, etc.,some of our needs may seem similar but these companys make their living at this, and yes some may be bias;and when they are, hang up and make the next call, you will find the answer your seeking.Remember to take your time...

It has more overlap than a FM14 on a 112 (233-224=9*)
While the 228/232 110 has 10* andd if XE-R is not enough you can grind it on a |LSK/XE-R| combo and that would be lethal.
228/232, .639/.600 110+2

sorry to bring up the dead but this area or grind seams to be the best for cars who dont want a high shift point.
predator-z you said that 228-232 on lsk/xer 110+2 would be leatheal. would any hp or tq be gained from lsk lobes on the intake and the exhaust as well?
