Which cam without aftermarket heads?
B1 or T1?
99 Trans AM
Corsa Exhaust
Grotyohann Headers
LS6 Intake Manifold
3000 Stall Converter
ASP Underdrive Pulley
Next I want to go with the Modified ARE Oil Pump, A Cam, and am wondering about after market fuel injectors but no aftermarket heads. Which cam would fit my setup? How much better idle quality will I get from the B1? Oh and would changing out a different # of fuel injectors make a difference without heads?

Need to pass emissions? Better get the B1. I wanted the T1 but that damn IM240 tester probably won’t pass it.
I don’t think you need bigger injectors for your set up if you’re going to stay na.
After MUCH debate, I decided on the B1 over other 114LSA cams I was looking at. Can't tell you if I like it yet though cause it's not in the car yet <img src="images/icons/frown.gif" border="0"> Damn winter time <img src="images/icons/mad.gif" border="0">

Brian, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but I was going to go with that cam till Tom told me that it probably won't pass emissions. Did he tell you differently?

He told me I shouldnt have a problem passing emissions...
If thats the case I got a scheme too....I am going to put the Cats on when its time...put them on real loose...a good amout of the exhaust will come out before the cats and some will get through the rear....and that will help me... <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Wont work. The cats have to be at a certain temperature to operate properly. Temperature = pressure, so if you have a nice leak before them, they wont work as well. Not only that, he can fail you for an exhaust leak, too. Youd have better luck stuffing cigarette butts in your tailpipe.

I am not sure but I think someone posted that you could wire the AIR pump to run constantly and that would "dilute" the exhaust and help you pass.

This is true. I read that post too. It's worth a try I guess <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Corsa Exhaust...Sweet sounding tunes!
Grotyohann Headers..They have treated customers so bad in the past, that I spit in Grots general direction.
LS6 Intake Manifold..A "need to have" mod for heads/cam.
3000 Stall Converter..Probably too small for your application.
ASP Underdrive Pulley...Yep.. gotta have it!
Modified ARE Oil Pump...It's good insurance.
A Cam...yes the Hammer.
after market fuel injectors...They are not really needed.
No aftermarket heads...the stock ones are so good. I dont blame you.
Which cam would fit my setup? The Hammer on a 112 l/s.
How much better idle quality will I get from the B1? The Hammer on a 114 would idle better...but it is a pretty smooth cam, as is. Especially when it's closed up by a good exhaust like the Corsa.
Oh and would changing out a different # of fuel injectors make a difference without heads?.....Different number? pardon? What do you mean? You dont need to change any injectors out for your level of mods.
Hammer cam specs? 222/222 .566/.566 112 or 114 for a cleaner/smoother idle.
To pass emissions? They make gas additives to help in this situation and they work, bump up your idle, run the smog pump off a switch (easy to do), have new oil/plugs in it and the car fully warmed up. If you can get by with a cut out open... your "in like Flynn". But it should not be necessary with a properly tuned motor. Do you have access to a MAFT?

Thanks John, Great response. Emissions will not be a problem for me. Also no I do not have access to a MAFT. By the time I get my cam in, hopefully I will have LS1 edit in my hands. Will I be able to lean out or make my fuel mix more rich with ls1 edit?
