Default The car is breathing again!

Man I'm freakin stoked! I'm sooo juiced up I can't even type so I'll try and keep it short.

I got to see the car cranked up tonight after the 422 install at MTI. I threw in some last minute changes with my choice of injectors. Jayson took it in stride...loaded my pcm up into LS1edit, calculated out a few changes, and then made the necessary adjustments. made a few other changes, and loaded up the new data.

Fired the car up...it struggled a little at first, but just flat out sounded MEAN! The made a few adjustments to the TB blade hole, and then it idled much better.

A little bit later we stuck it on the dyno. Impressions..blatantly obvious the yank 4400 converter just doesn't have the mojo to hold the motor. As soon as you hit it...your on the rev limiter. I seriously thought the car was gonna come off the dyno, it wrapped up so fast. So we pulled one locked...man it was more violent than the first!

Like a dummy I left the damn dyno sheet at my dads house, so I don't have the exact numbers in front of me. It did make 495rwhp corrected I forget the exact tq numbers. And it had the sweetest damn power, and tq curves! This is also through a race prepped 4l60, and moser 12 bolt with the huge eaton posi, and axles, and 4:10 gears.

Not too bad for the first pulls, and the first crack at tuning!

I was so jacked on adrenaline, i was freaking shaking after the dynos.

Big thanks to Jayson and ALL the crew at MTI!!! These guys have been awesome!

I can usually manage to stay perfectly content with my little stock displacement heads/cam setup...

Until I read posts like this, of course!

Maybe someday I'll be able to step up to the plate and "go big!"

Congrats on an awesome sounding setup, Larry!

Thanks for the replies guys!

Dave, soon hopefully...my schedule sucks for december, I just don't have much time off to do anything...so it will probably be January

Colonel. Probably gonna go to a TH350/400.

Badass..I can email you some figures after this weekend.

John...hehe you forget, there's a 432 solid roller right down the street from me that running low 10's ....tough neighborhood...right Dave ,LOL!

George...Thanks man, and I'm anxious to see what you do with your car at the track after your winter tinkering

OH HELL YEAH! I knew it had to be close to being done. You are making some WICKED power! You need to take it to River City tomorrow! I'll be there running brackets, and I'd LOVE to see that monster make some passes. I manage to get by with my bolt-on car until I read stuff like this. Are you going to see how long the 4L60E lasts before making a trans change, are you just going to do a complete swap with a new converter?
Congrats on a KILLER setup! That car is going to FLY!

I think you made the better choice ... the twin turbos are really nice ... but the N/A 422 is even nicer ... enjoy your machine!

Im really happy for you and majorly jealous :-)

Watch out for the parts my car left all over that dyno earlier last week.
Did you see my po' pewter SS? I havent seen it for months now.
MTI does make stuff work tho. Shame they have to fight my engine so hard :-/

Congrads again and enjoy what sounds like a nutty fast E-ticket ride...

495 HP! Wow! Let me know when you are going Larry so I won't take my Mustang and be embarrassed.

Congratulations to you and to MTI! That will be a fun car.
