valves are bad on my 205s on my TBSS. pulling them and AFR is taking care of the problem. yea, its an inconvenience, but i am more than happy that AFR has stepped up to the plate and is taking care of this. my hat is off to AFR, and a special thanks to tony!

Hat's off to you and you'll no doubt make some customers for life by your actions - count me as one!

That is proof enough for me...I will be getting my AFR's after my TDY in March...save some 205's with 62cc chambers for me.

Bringing this thread back from the dead...
How would one know if one's heads might be effected by this issue? I was putting them on tonight, then I saw this. My heads are over two years old, and have never been installed. I really don't want to pull them off again.
Can any tests be done, aside from shipping the things back to AFR? I'm sure I could utilize some tools at my local university (U of Florida) to test the hardness of the valve tips, if necissary.
Thanks,
Grant

Take your valve cover off and inspect the tip of your valves
One of mine was mushroomed out and even with the retainer and keeper, instead of sticking out some past the retainer.
Six other valves were nicked and chewed at the on top where the rockers tips touched them.

It takes a specialized piece of equipment to test the tip hardness.
If you have the means of removing the valves just send them to me directly at AFR and let us test and replace whatever might be defective. We will cover all the shipping costs involved.
Give me a jingle at the shop....(661)257-8124 Ext. 109
I should be back there in about an hour (2 PM PST).
Leave a message on my voicemail in case I miss you.
Thanks,
Tony
