I think AFR deserves big props. There are other vendors who have had issues, and I don't believe I have seen anyone step up the way AFR has. I suspect this problem is fairly limited, but obviously is a concern for end users. We're running AFR heads on Tommy's car, so obviously its something we'll look at. But I feel confident in know that Tony and AFR are there to back up their product.
We all work hard to pay for the parts to feed our speed addiction, it certainly gives you a good feeling to know you've not only got the best parts, but the best customer service to stand behind it...

thanks for all the support AFR. I definitly appreciate all that you guys are doing for us with heads. even if we dont have a problem. it is still nice to know that we are not affected by the problem.

Guys...
I've already touched on this topic but since it's worth repeating, whether you have a problem now or TEN years from now, AFR will stand behind it. We wouldn't go thru all this trouble and drop the ball on guys that the issue takes a little longer to manifest itself....we assumed that to be the case. Our guess is most of the bad valve issues will clean themselves up in the next 12 months depending on how many miles and how hard the car is driven. Assuming the percentage stays where it is now (very low), there will only be a few isolated cases after that (guys that put VERY little time on their cars).
Either way....we will address it no differently then the way we are handling it currently.

All I can say is WOW!!! There should be no question in anyone's mind now who the leading head manufacture is in this game. With a product that performs as well as AFR heads AND the service to back it up, that is sure making the bar that much higher for others. 
Maybe this should be a sticky for awhile so all can see.

Chuck Johnson and FLT/FLP ... now Tony Mamo and AFR. Can't ask for better support. I've been beating hard on my new motor for 8,000-plus-miles and no noticeable problems. Will be flying back to Florida tomorrow and pulling my valve covers on Wednesday ... nice to know it's covered so well, if I happen to fall into that small percentage. Even the fluids ... man, what a gass!

AFR's customer support comes as no surprise. It's the same I received when purchasing and installing your heads. I do have a question. Would the wear on the valves look the same if using the Crane adjustable roller tip rockers? I've had the rockers off many, many times and didn't notice anything (but wasn't really looking for specifics). My valvetrain is noisy and I have almost 5000 miles on the heads.

Pulled my valve covers, but, I didn't pull any of the rockers off since I have over 8,000 hard miles on the heads ... no obvious damage. Looked OK, but, will re-pull the covers and remove all the rocker arms to be safe. Dangit! ... wish I had pulled the rocker arms off ... everything looks OK so far, though.

Tony, would an engine oil analysis pick up this problem, and if so what part of the analysis would indicate that it might be worth taking a closer look at the heads? I have AFR 225's.
