My dealer has told me this is normal noise but I just don't think it is. In the clip I have, the car is warmed up to show it always ticks. I start out with the recorder next to the car and then move it over next to a valve cover because some people tried to tell me the sound was fuel injectors and I wanted to show it wasn't, then I move back next to it. It's kinda noisy because the air pump was on but you can still hear it just fine. Is this the same sound everyone thought it was or is mine different? I think it's a lifter so I need to go back to my dealer and get them to replace them somehow. Maybe it's somthing else though. What do yall think it is.

is it warmed up? It sounds like a spun bearing to me.... if its a tick, tick, its more of a lifter sound thats kinda a thump, thump... bearing... Whatever it, is its not normal.

my 99 T/A has a ticking noise similar but thats not mine...i'll see if i can get somethin to record mine to show you...mine ticks only when my engine gets hot...the dealership thought top engine cleaner would be the key but it wasn't...gota bring it back monday...JOSH <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Mine only ticked when hot.Expecially right after starting it when it's hot.
The dealer replaced all my lifters.Problem fixed.
