Default Paging Joe P and other LS1/LT1 guys

I know the LT1s run quite a bit more timing then our LS1s so, around 38-40 degrees I think? Our cars seem to run best in the 28-30 degree range. With an elctric H2O pump would a 346 LS1 run any better 'just' because of more timing? I know their would be less parasistic drag on the engine and the pump assembly would shed 14 pounds off the front of the car, but what about the timing issue? Would it also be safe to say that a guy running a power adder like nitrous would be able to run a tad more timing safely if he had an electric H2O pump? I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I am just looking at it from a non-gearhead point of view here. It would just seem the ability to run more timing on a N/A car would also translate to an ability to run a bit more timing on a poweradder car safer, right?
