Default Anyone running the CheaTR H/C?

I am thinking about sticking Thunder Racing's CheaTR setup on the T/A. I'm either going to do just the cam or the H/C that uses AFR 205 heads. I am curious what kind of track results you guys are seeing out of it. And what kind of street manners and idle quality it has. Does it really behave like stock?

I have the CheatR cam with Patriot 243 ported heads and stock intake and exhaust manifolds on my 03 vette 6speed. Puts out 378 RWHP and 369 RWTQ. Idle sounds like stock and drives like stock. LS6 + performance was what I was looking for and now have.

If your doing LTs, you might as well go bigger on the cam. the cheater cam was designed for guys who cannot run LTs like cali. most cams out there require headers to get maximum gain.

Are you running the stock C.R. or did you mill the heads ? Do you have a underdrive pulley?

well what other grind would be better suited? I still want to keep the sleeper approach. There is really no need for a bunch of lope with this car. It's pretty much a daily driver and we take the kids for rides in it fairly often.

The GT2-3 is a great baby cam. It's slightly bigger tha a Z06 cam. 207/220,.571/.578 118.5 LSA. It will give 25/30 HP over stock LS1 cam. It has a silky smooth Idle Same as stock.

Stock compression, stock pulley. Only other non stock items were LS2 timing chain and Chrome moly pushrods.

I would go with the package. We are putting the same package on my mom's Trailblazer SS soon and if we don't do the heads then we will for sure do the cam.

If you have headers and high flow cats (or none), there are better cam choices. Even if you want sleeper & emissions legal, you can run less exhaust duration, lower LSA, and pick up another 6 - 10* of overlap. Just decide on what you are trying to do and where your power needs to be.

I went a little different with my CheaTR cam. I am running a Fast 90/90 with Dynatech Longtubes, Off Road Y and Magnaflow catback. Before suspension mods in sig, i ran a best of 12.23 @ 115 on a 1.97 60ft out here in hawaii. Car also dynoed 401/375. I am in the process of adding an UD pulley and shopping for cylinder heads. Should be fun. Oh yeah, and car has hardly been tuned at all and runs exceptional.
