Question installing my FAST, where do the tubes go in the back?!?!

I got bored, and in preparation of my head cam build I started to tear down the engine...

The manifold was not too bad, tore my hands up with those little plastic DAGGERS holding that rubber onto the cowl..but I digress

I noticed that in the back of the LS6 manny, there were a bunch of very thin tubes and stuff that plugged into other pipes and fittings....

I am installing the FAST 90 manny, and saw that there are no provisions for these small tubes in that manifold...only that sensor...

I have a feeling that these tubes were part of the AIR system that I removed...is this true?? Should i be concerned?

Thanks
Erik

i dont know what skinny ones you're talking about. I have a LS6 intake and all i have is the big hose that goes to the booster and then one small hose that plugs in under the MAP sensor. But i dont have AIR or EGR.

More than likely there the air, egr follow were the lines go and it will tell you what they do. A haynes manual is somtimes helpful.

Like was said above, all i had on mine was a line going to brake booster, small map line that slides on just below a sensor connection in the back and there is the wires that are on the bottom that mount on the bracket that attaches the fuel ****. The air dosent connect to the back of the manifold. The pvc connects in the front on the passanger side of manifold. But the air dosent go to manifold at all. If i remember correct there are just lines that rund across the back, there but they connect to the fittings for air and connect to headers. Hope this helps

I've got some pix that might help as I just did this swap.

I THINK these are AC vaccume tubes for the pass side, and old AIR vac tubes for the right side, or at least associated with the AIR.

Left

Right, notice the box the tube goes into, this is where one vac tube from the AIR went into and got capped off, wondering/hoping it can go away. If anyone can confirm it doesnt need to stay id love to remove it.

FAST provision for vac tube T joint...

I think thats what your asking for?

AHH I see I see...
I will take a look....I believe the very small lines were from my AIR system, because I removed it....those are just left over...
my main concern is what do I do with the tube that went to the booster?
I will snap some pics....

please see my other post as well about the part that I snapped off while removing the LS6 manny....what in the hell is going on!?!

*EDIT*...nevermind, I see the tube on the back of the FAST that goes into teh booster...duh....I will go snap some pics and we will see what we got..

UPDATE:

Ok, thanks to everyone who posted in this thread, i located where the pipe goes to the booster...which was obvious...and I also located the small fitting on the back left of the manifold that that tiny plug goes into...so that is good..and iI found the plug that plugs into the sensor in the back of the manifold...

Below are some pics now of some things I am not sure of...

This item, if I recall correctly was located near the back right of the OEM manifold, it has two small fittings for pipes....where are these tubes now and will I need them?

I found this small pipe on the floor with other items that were removed when I removed the manifold:

Last but not least, this larger tube was back there as well, and obviously ran from valve cover to valve cover....my question is...what else plugs into it? More AIR fittings that no longer exist?

Guys, I appreciate all of your help...I really do not want to screw up more than I may have already...

Thanks
Erik

That is your pvc and hoses. The end you are asking about plugs into your manifold by the throttle body.

The last picture, the one that is connecting the two valve covers. The end that plugs into the manifold by the trottle body that had the ground wire. (dont forget to put that pack on that coolant crossover pipe that goes in the front under manifold). thanks

Here's a pic of the routing of the PCV from LS1Howto..

This should hopefully answer the rest...

Also, if someone could find out what that box with the two tubes going into it is for, and if we can remove it with the AIR, that would rule.

Are you talking about the coolant pipes?
Did you checkout the ls1howto install instructions for head/cam and intake?
It's got all this stuff in there you know.
Look halfway down for the coolant tube stuff.
You will need that if going to an LS6 or FAST from a < 2001 car.

No you should have all the stuff that you need. Just keep track of all the stuff you took off. I just stored stuff on the side that i took it off of so i would not loose antthing. Or you can use some tape and magic marker and label things so you will remember.
