First post and its not too good
My 2001 WS6 is going in for some major service. It seems that I have one of those engines with the bad piston rings. This really bites

Re: First post and its not too good
Bad piston rings? Is this a common problem? My engine is in for service right now and they want to void my warranty due to my mods. Wondering whether your pistons fried due to faulty rings-- i might want to bring that up to the dealer?
Thanks

Re: First post and its not too good
Went to the dealer this morning. I spoke with the service manager and mentioned the service bulletin. He looked it up and said....he'll do it. No oil consumption test!!! No hassles!!! What a relief I am having the work done the second week in Jan. BTW, he told me that he has seen LS1 engines with incorrect piston ring spacing. This could slso be the problem.
