Works fine for me. They allow you to ramp up faster and they are a little lighter than the stock iron one.

does the battery drop that much if you only do the crank pulley

No, it is not a problem with just the crank pulley..

I am taking them off my A4 and putting them on my M6, then there will be no problem..

I've been running ASP crank and alternator pullies on my car for quite some time with no problems. My idle is higher than most autos, though (975rpm). Unless you plan on spending alot of time at idle, I don't think you'll have a problem with both. Otherwise, the crank pulley alone should be totally worry free.

sweet. my main concern was the idleeeeee since it idles like 500 with the converter. sometimes it dies when im trying to back into a parking space (could be a combination of the cold weather)

guess im gonna buy me some for x-mas

I have the crank pully and every blue moon the car will cut off only when running the AC and backing into a parking space but its a comb of the pully and the cam and I have not had my idle raised. I can live with it though until I get programming.

I had the crank pulley and stock idle with no problems.

I know 2 people who had crank and altenator pulley with a stock idle who developed charging problems.

Most of the gain is the crank pulley. Underdriving the altenator may help but some of the gain is offset by the fact that the pulley is larger (diameter and probably mass) than stock.
