ported TB gains?
How much rwhp would a ported TB add for a "bolt-on" car? How much if you add a cam and the likes? I seem to recall LPE sells one for $80-90 bucks. Seems like a pretty good price!

Don't know about the gains, but MTI has one for $99 with a core exchange. I plan on doing it myself.

Re: ported TB gains?
Many bolt-on people gain nothing from one. I think 15RWHP on a heads/cam car is a very high estimate. Maybe on a bigger cubed motor, but probably closer to 7-10 on a heads/cam car depending on the intake (LS6 or not) and the size of the valves and cam.

Re: ported TB gains?
Heads/cam cars are seeing ~5-7rwhp w/ a ported TB.
A stock heads/cam only car gained 4rwhp locally.
We'll be testing one on my bolt-on car soon.

Re: ported TB gains?
Porting the TB won’t change the dead spot that 3.23 A4s have between 30mph and 45 or so. The only thing that can help this is a nice big TC That dead spot is because your car won’t downshift to first and you’re stuck in the basement of second where there’s no power. A high stall TC will skip you right past that low power low rpm range and make a big difference here. But even then, it’s still not like throwing it back to first manually at 35mph

Re: ported TB gains?
What I think it is is that I didn't screw in the throttle body screw in properly. My car idles higher since I have put it back on. I am 95 percent sure that the actual porting of the T/B ISN'T why I feel a different area of power. I think it is because I put something back on incorrectly and unsettingly. So in a way the Throttle Body porting did help me out with power. I didn't say it was that actual porting that did it.
I doubt you get more than 3-5 horsepower from a heads/cam car, much less stock.

Re: ported TB gains?
I'm not sure about definite dyno numbers but... I ported mine out on Sunday. Having an A4 I have no jump or pull around 30mph. Now I can stabe it anywhere from 1 to 45 and it pulls like a BEYOTCH! My only problem is it pulls alot harder from 0mph to 70. But when my car should shift to 3rd I hit the rev limiter. I "felt" a gain in power but now I need an HPP3 to raise my shift points and it will be all good. I did not lose any high end horsepower either, it just feels like I gained a crapload of low end
