Pro Touring Cam?
I've been doing alot of research on all the post of different cam's and it seem's that most have the 1/4 mile in mind, but I would like to keep this Hot Rod like a Pro Touring ride good off throttle responce and when I want to grab some gear's it's got good power up top too. I like to take the car on some trip's and hit the curve's in the Mountain's and Ilike the 1/4 mile once in awhile too, so I guess I'm saying I would Like good idle with a little thump to it But I need it reliable for those longer trip's. Any idea's on which cam would be a big help, Thanks

Yea I know there has been alot of talk lately, I've done a search and read alot it just seem's most people are into the 1'4 mile and i'm more into both but I guess I would like it to be more of a road car, I've had alot of 1/4 mile car's in my time with big block's and thumpy cam's but these new SS with great gas milage seem more like a Pro Touring ride to me so many cam's to chose from just wondering if anyone has set up their ride like this and what cam they went with.

Re: Pro Touring Cam?
i do some closed circuit racing occasionally and the hotcam does an awesome job, I wasn't expecting anything great from it on the road course, but i must say i was very impressed. the hotcam is a cam that has excellent response from 2000rpm - 6500rpm and makes awesome power through the entire rpm range, it would be that much better with long tube headers, which i don't have yet

You might check out the cam TrahnZham (on this board) has - I think it's a very mild cam, though I guess on here it would be considered a medium range one. 223 degrees of duration - his is on a 112 I believe, 114 would give a little better idle. 418rwhp@5800rpm - 411ft-lbs of torque with a hydraulic roller! I think it would be a killer street grind!

Pro Touring is really the all around car that could run coast to coast with no problems with the air on or off good gas milage and can dive into the curves and have great throttle responce coming out of them and still have good power for the 1/4 mile. So with the mod's I have in my sig beside's a cam i want to install I plan on putting in 3.73 gears and a Z06 clutch set up and a BMR torque arm and a LS6 intake. So I guess I'm looking for that all around cam thats a good reliable drive that makes good power. I'm a GM employee so I could get a great deal on the Hot Cam from the GM warehouse but I'm not to sure about how the 112 lsa would be for a good idleing cam, or should I try and go with a special grind?

Thanks Chris, I'll see if I can find him on the board and check it out. I'll also check out the B1,C1,and T1 cams too, they are so close together it's hard to tell which would be the all around better street cam.
