Most aftermarket are made of plastic. They have a higher flow rate than stock ends and the don't retain heat like the stock metal ones.

Just dont buy the WHISPER ends...
I got a set..and even tho I didnt go nutty on tightening em down
to the sensor, to corners cracked inside of 5 months

Its still sealed ok..but the fact that the corners cracked just pisses me off...

If they cracked, you tighten them too far.

Had the same Whisper MAF ends on two cars. ZERO problems.

Yes the are worth it for the $. I have had mine for about a year and absolutely no problems with the Whisper ends. I also know plenty that have them and I have never heard of a problem with them.

With the aftermarket ends, does the car lean out to much and require a MAFT. I know this is car dependant, but I ran pretty rich on the dyno. Thanks.

You should contact Wilwaxu. I believe he has the ends for $75 and is a good guy to deal with. If you are running rich it should help with leaning it out. If you have a 2000 you will probably run very lean like me. Reson being GM decided in 2000 to use 22# injectors. I am upgrading mine to 28# soon to run better with my Nitrous. Hope this helps.

Warlok,
Does 01's and 02's run a little richer than the 00'? I've heard a lot of guys running too lean with ends or ported meters, but not much info on 01 or 02 cars with ends or ported meters. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the plug Warlock

The 2001/02 run ALOT richer than the 2000's. We have larger injectors just for starters.... The MAF ends also raise the timing, which our cars need dramatically!

My car picked up 7hp & 8tq at the rear wheels with the addition of just the MAF ends, I think that's more timing than air flow

My car was around 11.9 A/F on the dyno. With ends would I need a MAFT or should I be ok with just the ends?

Why are you selling your ends? Did you buy a different MAF? Sorry for all the questions.

I have a set of fully-ported MAF ends that I'm asking $50 + shipping for. I saw an additional 2 degrees of timing from them. They came off when I had the Ed Wright programming done. You can see pics of them at my website under parts for sale.

Well this is good news to me. My stock dyno was on the low side and looking at the graph one of my first hunches was that it was running too rich. But, I had heard that the 2000's were pinging with ported ends, and I just assumed that 01's would as well. Looks like I will be giving the ported ends a try.

I've only found one place where they sell the plastic MAF ends. Fast Toys. I would like to know if there is other places that sell the plastic ones and if you can buy colored plastic MAF ends. Thanks
