Bare Long Block
Hey there. I just picked up a bare long block LQ4 from a friend for $250.00
It's got everything but the intake, computer, and harness. As far as intake, I was going to go with a victor jr. efi setup, but as far as electronics go, I have no idea what I'm looking at. I'm a carb guy, and have never touched EFI before, but have been drawn by the obvious advantages of EFI.
I've been told to look at FAST and found this:
http://www.compperformancegroupstore...Category_Code=
Is that everything I need computer/harness wise? Is that just a harness without the computer? If so, where do I get the computer from?
Thanks.
I hope this is the right forum, if not, feel free to move it.
(Wasn't sure if I should put this in the tuning section or not...)
*Edit*
The block was out of a 2001 or 2002 Denali, if that matters.

well, since you don't have the computer or harness with the engine, you could really use any engine management system you wanted.
If the victor jr efi setup will fit an lsx engine, then you could just get that kit and wire up the sensors needed accordingly.
It may be easier to use a stock GM computer, intake, and harness from a vehicle that was being parted out though.

Well if I went with a carb setup, what would I need besides this?

Do I still need a computer, if so, where can I get one? I really have no clue on this computer stuff and it seems like no matter how much I read I don't get any fundamental answers.
Then again, I'm not the smartest tool in the shed either.
I'll fall back on that if I must, but what I've been wanting is this setup here:

Part number: 350-2908
But I don't know what else I'd need.
Or where to get it.

Hah, strangely enough have I have that catalog sitting next to my computer.
Right now I'm dead set on the victor jr. intake setup. If I went with the carb setup, I'd get
"# Victor Jr. Manifold & Timing Module For LS1 carbureted applications
# 3500-7500 RPM "
But I'd really like to go with the efi setup. The victor jr efi setup comes with fuel rails, so what else what I need besides the injectors? The computer and harness right? But where/how do I acquire those?
Like I said, here is the one I want
Chevrolet LS1 V8
VICTOR JR. LS1 EFI (3500-7500 rpm)
This high-rise single plane intake is capable of supporting up to 600 hp. Like our Performer RPM LS1 intake, the Victor Jr. LS1 EFI accepts a standard flange throttle body. Includes a throttle bracket designed to work with 700R-4, 200R-4 and Turbo 350 transmissions. Most applications will require hood modification.

*Edit*
This is going to be for a turbo application by the way. Hence the leaning towards efi over carb. (But don't think I don't know a carb cant kick *** in blow thru. :
