New CompCams 'Beehive' springs > No more breakage?
This may have been talked about here before, but I missed it if it had. I understand Comp Cams has released two new valve spring P/Ns that are a drop in replacement for the LS1. Could these springs be the fix for broken aftermarket springs that have been a problem for us since day-one?
BTW, Comp Cams say they are good up to 7,500 rpm and cam lifts up to .625"
Could these become the spring of choice by our head porting sponsors to be used in there ported cyl heads?

P/N 26915-16 ‘Beehive’ valve spring is a direct replacement with 105lb seat press @ 1.800” install height
P/N 26918-16 ‘Beehive’ (High Load) valve spring is a direct replacement with 130lb seat press @ 1.800” install height

Any Comments?
Thanks,
Ron

Did a search on "918"
Got alot of info. Goes to show.... Search before you type!
Looks like the 918s have not been out long enough to see if any will fail. Only time will tell.

I've got about 6000 miles on a set of 915's, and so far so good. 918's weren't available when I changed springs or I woulda bought those.

Re: New CompCams 'Beehive' springs > No more breakage?
I switched to Comp 918's recently, and am very impressed. I have .591 lift, and spin the motor to 7000rpm or so, and haven't had any trouble. They haven't seen too many miles yet, but so far they seem like a great setup.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully Comp Cams has finally produced a spring that wont continue to break and dont need head machining done like, I believe the double springs do. Well, maybe the head porters will start using these as the spring of choice. We shall see.....
