I have SLP LTs mated up to a Borla system;. I had the LM and it was ridiculous...way too loud. Right now I have no plate in the borla sounds good. no resonance or anything. Im gonna be running test pipes soon so I wIll be putting in a smaller plate to tone it down a little and make some backpressure

First off, I have Grots and no cats before the catback.

I had the B&B and tossed it cause the quad tips were too big and they looked ricey to me. Also the sound with my other exhaust mods was ricey, IMO.

I got the LM, it was definately loud. With the heads and cam and grots w/o cats it was so loud I was afraid to run up the rpms for fear of a ticket from a cop 6 blocks away. I am not kidding here, it was like a NasCar.. Drone? What did you say? huh? wait, let me shut off the car first...... I couldn't order at drive thrus, and they would come out and tell me to turn it off when they tried to get the order of the guy behind me.

I am running the Dual Dual now, and with the rest of the exhaust mods it is still quiet. I also picked up some good low end torque by going to it from the LM. top end seems the same, and now I can hear my $3500 stereo w/o cranking it up.

Yeah I too did some measuring <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0">

Oh Well I'm looking at a something else now to replace my "resonator" that should sound better than my current set-up. <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

Thanks Dude! I'm gonna put Hooker headers on with custom Y and ORP's runnin' through the LM . . . then we'll see if I like the sound <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

I have MAC's with the OR ypipe and a Random Tech catback. I haven't dynoed with it on lately since I usually pull the muffler and tailpipes when I dyno..but when the car had only bolt ons and making 344rwhp...We did 4 dyno runs two without and two with the muffler and all were 344rwhp! ZERO power loss!

It is a different story now I think because when we put the muffler on now it "feels" quite slower. I will dyno soon and find out.

Well, I think i've decided what I want to do with my exhaust. I have the Loudmouth, but I think I will weld a muffler in the stock location, then put a flange on the passengers tail-pipe (with different plates, of course). In escence, I will have something similar to a Borla. I don't think i've seen anyone do that.

98 -SS with SLP y-pipe and loudmouth exhaust

I figured that was the most i could get away with and still pass inspection.

FLP's, ORP, Random Tech catback. The sound is stunning. Quiet at idle, Drone is OK ( 2200 rpm ), WOT is frickin Nascar sounding. Smoke, how did yours sound with the MAC's?

Sounds quiet at idle...has that lame *** drone(kinda a cackle sound) most LS1's have and sounds pretty damn good WOT...now if I could drive everywhere at WOT?..Lol!

Thing I hate the most is having dual tips but really only having exhaust come out ONE pipe! Only drawback to the R/T.

Wuzzup, y'all? New member, here. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

Been rockin' my '01 Z-28 for about 8,000 miles (in three months). Gotta get me some Ferrari and Porsche cling logos, maybe put one on the window for each victim. There's a 928S4 driver with a slightly less elevated opinion of his wurstgrinder. And some dude in a pristine '87 328GTS Quattrovalvole got an education about trying to cut off a bone-stock, T56 LS1 from the right turning lane, other day (and man, you shoulda seen the '71 350 that joined in on the fun, not to mention the silver '95 Z that tailgated yon hapless Cavallino - like a school of Camaros descended on our poor, hairshirt hero...)

Anyways, I digress. <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

So it seems the SLP dual-dual system is getting a lot of good word here. Lemme ax ya - this is the system that comes stock in the SS, no? Can you run that through stock Z-28 tips without any welding?

Also, I see y'all talkin' 'bout a drone. Now I love that quiet, menacing, pissed-off Northstar rumble on idle, and I like the W O T sound; want to keep that bimodality. But I'm not fond of that truckish clatter anywhere between the two extremes. This the drone you're talking about? And do I gather that the SLP system is the best way to handle it? Or would that Flowmaster muffler do the trick?

SLP dual/dual

It's nice and quiet and a good flowing cat-back.

Hooker Cat-Back with MAC's and Off-Road pipe. It sounds killer at WOT.

i have dynamax LT headers, off road pipe, and a cutout on my stock catback. i like it a LOT, it is not very quiet at idle and at WOT it is pretty darned loud! it is much deaper sounding and i lost the terrible drone i had with the stock manifolds and ORP. with the cutout capped, it is so quiet it scared me. then again, i had open headers for a couple of days so that scewed my idea of loud! LOL.
