Head Gasket Question
I am going to be doing a heads and cam swap this spring. I have bought a set of PRC stage 1 heads and a cam. I am looking for a head gasket that has a thinner compressed thickness than stock. I have looked at Comecis(sp?), but they are really expensive. I was told by some one that mr-gasket made a set that was thinner and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Is this true? If so, what is the part number\compressed thickness, and where can I get them? Thanks

good question. Im in the same boat. want thinner then stock, dont want to pay alot for cometics, and dont want the sealing issues, or the chance of even. rather just use standard gasket type. but what effect does the larger bore have? will it offset the compression gains of the thinner gasket by effectivly opening up the combustion chamber? or is that part negligible compared to the better quench area you'd still achieve by lowering the combustion chamber surface closer to the piston top with the thinner gasket?
