I would have to say go ahead and go with the TR6s at this point in the game. General rule of thumb is it's time to switch to the colder plug when you go to nitrous or are 100rwhp over stock. If your not gonna run juice you can run a wider gap than what I do (.038 for the occasional N2O run)

I would say for all motor ~.045 gap would be a good starting point.

no nitrous you will only need 55s at most. you will make more power and he is right on a .045 gap mine are 6s set at .028 other wise they would blow out 200 shot. im deff losin power on a 28 gap and 6s.
go 55s

I use TR-6 for anything over 400 rwhp and has had tuning done where timing has been uped a bit. TR-55 are a stock plug equivilent.

Hey man how ya been? I decided to go with the TSP MS3, a very tried and true cam...a little more up top, but thats ok, with the heads that I have (5.3's) the power band should come down just a tad making it a screamer on the street!
Check out my post in mulitmedia, there are pics and everything...

I agree and this is also NGK's recommendation. Also better to error on the cold side than the hot side, and at $12 for a set you can always change them once they get some miles on them and you can read a couple.

Colder spark plugs remove heat quicker, reducing the chance of pre-ignition/detonation so if you have more compression than stock, this is important.

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinf...200&country=US

-NGK's site said you should reduce the gap (about .004" for every 50 hp you add). I believe the stock gap is .060 so that'd be .052.

Will the colder plug hurt HP or TQ

ALSO do the TR6's come gapped appropriately or will I have to gap them?
I plan on puishing around 450 RWHP

Fixed it. Unfortunately knowlegdable replies you wont get. Theres too many posts from people that are in the middle of the pack. Very few in the lead. Those are the guys id want to listen to. The guys actually making power and running ET's.

With that said. A BP7EFS would be a great all around plug for what you are building and even on the juice. less heat, less chances of pre ignition = more sustainable engine loads and power potential. Id run a TR6 for a stock internal bolt on car..LOL
