Dart 225 heads on stock motor?
My dad came across a banging deal for a NEW set of Dart heads complete for $850 shipped. He's going to put them on his 04 GTO which is completely stock. What do you guys think about this? What problems/issues is he going to face? Can he just put them on and go about his way? He's looking at doing a cam swap later on, but just couldn't pass up the deal for the heads and he can do the head swap himself. I'm just curious as to what will happen putting these heads on the stock motor........I guess they'll just make it produce more power Oh, and what head gaskets does he want to go with...The Titans? or is there a better option? He's in a little town in MO where there are no tuners so he would have to do some kind of mail-order tune also.

A local guy went 11.50s with Dart 225s and an LS6 cam. It will certainly be an improvement over stock. Those are nice heads. The stock 62cc chambers are going to help compression, and the runners are really not all that big compared to CNC ported LS6 heads.

Are they used, how many miles and using what for a cam?

spoke with Dad today and he's going the smart route and doing cam/heads/headers at the same time. He already has cat-back exhaust. 3" H-pipe into Flowmasters (don't say anything about teh chokemasters, i've already told him) car sounds sweet though. Now it's going to be time to find him a cam. I'll make another thread about that. Just wanted to give an update.
