that is just my thoughts though, coming from someone who does drive a big cam everyday.

I know that I wouldn't want to run an auto and try to drive it on the street. Would 4.10s be a good idea with this cam?

Yea i could see your point with that..Ms4 239/242 111 Trex 242/248... 110.. there is a differnce even in lift 649/609 to 608/612... i myself really never saw a difference in performance even with my Et's..maybe cause of my stall and gears...

Ouch.... I guess I should be glad I don't have a Vette....wait, that makes no sense. I'm glad I don't have to buy the exhaust, there...that sounds better.
I think that I will just install the smaller cam, the 224/224 .581/.581 in it for the time being. And I think that I will get some springs for it too. I wouldn't want to get the engine in, romp it once, and it blow....
Would the 224 need to be checked for clearance?

every cam should be checked for clearance, you should be fine but you never know... bare minimu rotate the assembly by hand with the plugs out to check and make sure it spins... dont just fire it up thinking everything is ok.

Just FYI about cams and gears. I DD my tsp 231/237 .598/.595 112 every day with stock 3.42s and it is definitly crying for 4.10s. But its my personal opinion that the t-56 was meant for 4.10s

I hear alot of people saying that they should have came with 4.10s. I beleive it. I think that I'm gonna do my best to get a set when I install the engine.
I'm definately going to check the engine over before I install it and try to start it. Might go with a L92 set-up instead....

With an LS6 intake 224 to 232 is all the more you need to go. Any more is a waste unless you're just looking for sound at the cost of power. Its hard to argue with the Patrick G cams, just look at his results. I dont think you'll see anyone putting down better numbers with a T-rex and a LS6 intake. I'd imagine the XRE lobed 228/232 110+1 is a little better for the average guy who's worried about spring life.

Comp 921's are awesome springs. I would pull the springs off and have them checked for pressures. If they seem up to snuff, re-use them. A TR224 or any other 224 should be fine with those springs if the pressures are ok.
Old wore out lifters on the other hand might not be up to the job with the 921's..

Yea, I know I'd need a 4.0 or greater bore. I'm thinking about getting a harness and the accessories and just piecing together a L92 with a good sized cam.
The engine comes with afteramarket hardened lifters of some sort. I will have to check the springs if I get the engine. Like you said, if they're good, I'll reuse them. If not...new ones.
If I get this LS1, I plan to just run the TR224 til I can afford to build a L92. If I don't, I'll just leave the LS1 I do get alone til I can get the L92.
Anyone here bought anything from RPM-Express??
