I am thinking about buying a MAFT and taking it to a buddy's house that has auto tap and get er done.
Would you say to do the same?
Yes, i have stock programming and I know that will help too.

Take this FWIW...
I put in a B1 cam. When my Grots finally went on, I got a LOT of popping and stinking gassy exhaust with the stock MAF. I put on some ported MAF ends and the popping went away.
I did not have this problem with the cam and stock exhaust (popping or stink). Only when I went to the Grots, no cat Y (duh!), and catback.
So, as noted above, AutoTap would be of benefit, but tuning is definitely where your problem lies. My car runs better with the ported MAF in place (which is, essentially, all the MAF translator is going to do for you - rescale your MAF curve).
I'm not saying you should port your MAF, I just happened to have a ported pair of ends laying around that I could stick in there...
