What about the collector flanges? Do you just have some welded on, or can you buy them with the flanges?

Cool! They are black like my non-coated FLP headers

Nice shapes on those primaries, and I'll bet they are reasonably priced coming from Hooker.

Only $410 for the headers?! Wow, I may be able to afford long tubes a hell of a lot sooner than I thought!
It sucks being 17 and having to pay $440 a month on car payments. Gotta love Holley and other corporations for helping out people like me

1)Coating looks better
2)coated headers last longer, especially in a daily driver, or lots of salt out
3)coated headers help keep the heat in the header and reduce underhood temps. This helps performance, probably not more than a few hp in our applications though
4)they coat the insides too to keep them from rusting on the insides. A 1.75" header full of rust will make about the same hp as a 1.5" header thats smooth inside, since the rust disturbs the exhuast pulse waves. Of course it takes a few years for them to rust that bad.

So its mainly for cosmetics and durability, but it also probably makes a touch more hp new, and will still make similar hp in 10 years. If you dont plan on having the same headers in 10 years it makes a difference.

Judging from those pics, there doesn't appear to be much room to access the spark plugs. It could be just the angle they're shown from...

Anyone have any firsthand experience on that?

If you cut out the "middle man," last I checked you can send them to Jet Hot yourself and get them done for $180. NEVER let the "middle man" do it. Just some friendly advice.

I am very close to ordering these, but i am wondering how clearance will be. Can anyone tell by the pictures? I try'd examining photos of FLP's, Hookers, and SLP's (knowing that SLPs dont have good clearance, and FLP's do) but i couldnt really tell. I have Eibach Pro-kit Springs by the way.

Thanks
Ryan

I like the length of the collectors, but if you then add the length of the cats & then try to make a smooth transition to the y collector it may be tricky.Without the cats it would be easy.

For the guys thinking about getting their headers coated, you may want to check these guys out HPC... I had them coat my MAC's for my old 95Z, and I was very impressed w/ their work.
