Can you measure the thickness? There are many opinions on how thick they are. This will give us some conclusive data.

Thanks

.040" Cometics here. Thin layer of silver paint on either side, block and heads prepped very thoroughly, stock torque specs and pattern with ARP bolts. No problems yet after 4k miles and 50 track runs with 10.3 CR NA.

Stay away from Titan SCE's the biggest waste of money in my life. I didn't even get to start the car. Added coolant and they leaked. The heads/block were clean, I even used cooper spray on the gaskets.

I'll be using a set of used Stage 3 Patriot LS6 heads.

Can I just re-use stock head gaskets and bolts? Should I get new ones, what size?

Thanks.

The stock bolts are a torque to yield design. Once they have been used, they are done. So, I would get new bolts and gaskets. It's honestly not worth the small amount of money you would save tryn to re-use the head gaskets. If they leak, you will have to buy another set of headbolts, AND spend all the time taking the **** apart and re-assembling it again. If you were to upgrade to arp studs, then you can safely re-use them ( the bolts, not gaskets)

As far as which head gaskets, I would go with .040 cometics for a tight quench if your setup allows.

Anybody have any experience using ROL HG34675? Also, would anyone happen to know the thickness on these?

My Felpro Gaskets lasted about 3000 miles before they started leaking. This time I will use the GM MLS Gaskets. They are reasonably priced with a history of good results.

I have been running the 1041's for about 8000 miles and just had to replace the passenger side gasket due to it leaking.

another thing to consider is the heads you are using. i'm using a set of ported 4.8L heads. because of the factory notch in the deck surface, the MLS gasket leaked as soon as i put water in the motor. so, had to use composite gaskets instead.

here's pic of the notch. you'll see it under the third cylinder from the right.

here's a pic of the MLS gasket. you'll notice there is no sealer around the water holes. so, the water travels across the metal to the notch and leaks right out of the block.

Copper sprayed, .040" Cometics w/ ARP studs torqued to just above spec, here; no leaks. As mentioned, it's all about the prep of the block & heads. The copper (or other) coating is good insurance.
