Depends on what you need. GM MLS work fine, but if you are going to be running a lot of compression and need a tighter quench or if you're running a strange overbore size or Darton MID sleeves, Cometic is the way to go.

They first set was on the car for about 2 years and I honestly don't remember which ones they were exactly. The second one was the MLS gasket. I'm still not too sure how in the hell I popped that one. And it only took 13 miles to do it. Could have been a bad gasket.

Will the stock MLS gaskets take nitrous (150 shot in my case)? Which is better to use, the 6.0 gaskets or the stock ones? I'm trying to decide if the cometics will be worth it, I will have a 150 shot on the h/c soon, are they worth the price? Also what is the stock bore size if I do go with cometics? I almost forgot, why are the stock mls gaskets so much cheaper ($24 a peice on thunder racing)?

I believe the 6.0L MLS part# is 12589227. Not sure if it is different for 5.7L or 5.3L???

Do all stock GM gaskets have the same thickness? (LS1, LS2, 6.0, 5.3, etc) I've been told they're 0.060.

Theyre packaged as saying .060 but they usually mic out to .054 after theyve been compressed.

Cometics FTW!! I sprayed them with 2 light coats of Permatex and torqued them down to 75lbs on the big side and 25 on the small side using ARP studs and they are 100% perfect, no leaks or any of that BS.

Its all about surface preperation and proper torquing IMO.

Hmm.... I might look into these. I've been having a hard time justifying the cost of Cometics after hearing/reading a lot of the horror stories.
