Headers and Stall Converter if you are A4. Lid is a must and either MAF ends or port your Maf ends. May want to think gears too depending what you have.

If you know what I know, you would just leave it stock and not worry about things breaking because the way these cars are if you increase performance in one area, the others are gonna need it also soon or later....I use to have a nice daily driver and some what still do but its been through alot of mod's and I mean alot!!!!
Now that I have done these mods, I see things in a different perspective now....

Oh well, cant change things now.

If you are an A4 I think the best bang for the buck is the following
TP 4400 converter
Hooker Long tubes with custom Ypipe and 3.5 inch cutout
ET streets

Close to 11's right there
Do the free mods and a lid and you are all set!
Cheers,

thanks for the quick responce.. I do have a manual 6 speed though. I was going to let air in and out (maf, tb, exhaust, headers) and also do little things to make it look better , chrome the wheels, i am zanioing as we speak, ss front grille, chrome hood insert, red camaro letter on trunk. windows tint. I am looking to improve the looks as well as the performance, And I don't want to hamper the every-day driveability of this car. So i am probley goign to stay away from the heads and cam. Not goign to get a gear also cause i don't like having to gas it to get any accelaration. I wish these things handeled supercharges better.

Since you are in Pearland, come on out to the MTI dyno-day this Saturday at 10am. You will meet alot of LS1 owners and learn what works and doesn't work and get alot of first hand advice from the guys. Just take the beltway around to the West side of town, exit on Westhiemer and go left. About 4 miles down the road you will hit the Dairy Ashford intersection, take a left there. MTI is located behind an Autozone on your left, turn on the first street past the Autozone (Oxford Park)

For $2K I'd start with an airbox lid, a cutout, some headers, a shifter, and sticky tires.

A lot of it depends on what headers you buy. Used MACs are sometimes under 300, some of the new long tubes are over 1300 Of course there are prices all between those 2 extremes.

i was worried about getting headers cause of the ground clearance issue, i also wanted to lower my car cause i don't like seeing the fender wells above the tire. I am guessing i can't do both but i am wondering if anyone else has tried using long tubes with a 1" lowering kit also, anf if they have run into any troubles driving around or pulling into parking lots.

MACs are better for ground clearance than any of the longtubes.

yet i have heard that long tubs sound the best with loudmouth.. is this true??

I like loudmouth because of it's performance but i have heard that you should get long tubs with it or your car will sound too metallic.

I think you should rethink the gears. 4.10s is the best mod I did on my car when it was near stock. Made the car much more fun to drive. Besides that lid & maf are good to start. Maybe LCAs & SFCs...

Look good and run better. Those were my thoughts!

I tinted windows, Wings West Ground Effects, Chrome badges, (looks great wtih the chrome wheels) W.W. grill with different inserts, found a new Borla Cat back for $300 , free mods, lid, pully, Pro 5.0 and FTRA. I'm with Jim with the LCA's.... that was a great mod. I don't have SFC's but did get Hotchkis Panhard bar with LCA's from a friend for $100. I guess I will start wishing for SFC.... I love the back roads!!

Completely happy with this. Not too much cash if you find this stuff on sale.

I ask for mods when holidays come around... Keep that in mind. I only had to spring for the Borla, ground effects, LCA and Panhard! Good things come to those who wait....

I think it looks great and runs 32 MPG on the highway! I could not believe it either! These engines are amazing.

TTS long tubes and 32 mm sway bar and poly bushings were under the tree this time... I guess I will install before spring!

Anyone want to help?

Have fun and enjoy!

32MPG on the highway !!! no way !! that's amazing, i already have my friends and thier preludes and chevy trucks enving my MPG , but 32 that's unbelievable. I think i am goign to stick with the red badges the only chrome i want on the car is the hoodinsert i think that would match the wheels and give the car enough chrome . I was wondering how i was going to get the chrome wheels though, would it be a good idea to have them dipped, or would it be better to just trade them in somewhere, hopefully there isn't that much of a price diffrence.

I know.... and some won't believe that. 6th gear and curise control. It has dropped to 31 if there are hills... My friend did not believe it either and then we took it from Md to IN. Right there in front of his face. Shoot, I was amazed and did it on the way back to double check..... Keep feeding it air.. Simple but sure.

Now, playin and around town... that is a different story completely..

Have fun!

$2000:
Converter (3200-3500) $700
Nitrous 100-150 HP $700
sticky tires $300
lid $80-100
cutout $50

& still have enough left for tint & Zaino
