Default grott's vs. FLP's

I have narrowed my choice for headers down to these. I havent heard to much about the grotts other than a long wait. I would like to know if they are a very streetable header or are they more for track use? Any other info would be greatly appreciated

I think my Grotts are totally streetable, and Im pretty demanding as far as "streetability". I think the quality is alot better than FLP, and I think they make a *TAD* more HP. I only think that because a majority of the cars that have made record power with stock heads all had Grotts.

Now, Grotts may be hard to come by. And, if after you get them you need anything from Grott, you are likely screwed. *I* have had very good experiences from him, but I seem to be a distinct minority, across multiple engines (LT, LS, LT-Impalla, etc) The Grotts also need HUGE clearance to get them in. I have *somewhere* a pic of hopw high mine took to *sliiiiip* in. FLP's go on initially easier. But after jmX's experiences with FLP's, I'm totally happy with my Grotts.

I emphasize things with asteriks way *too much*. Sorry

I am very happy with my grots. The install only took me about 3 1/2 hours without airtools. I did have access to a lift to put the car on though and that made things a lot easier.

I was also able to use the factory y-pipe instead of buying one from Roger. It only cost me 30 bucks to have the stock y modified to fit the grots I used the factory y-pipe for a few reasons. One being cost, another being ground clearance, and the factory y-pipe doesnt start to become to much of a restiction until you get close to the 350 rwhp mark.

If you have the money to spend get the FLP's but I think the Grots are a good bang for your buck longtube setup (as of right now)

I have FLP's and they are great and no clearance problems. My best friend has grotts that I helped install. I have access to a lift so either were about the same to install. I had the chance to buy either at the time I bought mine(thunder racing had both in stock) I bought FLP because of the Y pipe being a little better. If I had it to do again after seeing the grotts in person I would get them instead. I am sure hp is very close but the grotts are more of an equal length header. The drivers side FLP is alot shorter. THe FLP y pipe is better but not by much. They both hit the floor board on shifts etc.

YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH EITHER BUT IF EQUALLY AVAILABLE I WOULD GET GROTTS.

The one reason I want FLPs is the fact that I can choose to run with or without cats in a matter of minutes. If you ONLY want to run an ORP, I would go with Grotts. I want the option because I have the Loudmouth, and an ORP would be to loud for the street.

If you get the Grotts, you can have a custom Y made, with removable cats, & still be better off price wise & will flow alot better. JMO
