I cancelled my subscription because 90% of the coverage was for carbuereted, non-electronic old stuff. GMHTP has so far been the only magazine providing the coverage I desire. I'd gladly renew my subscription if CHP increases their LS1 coverage.

I think alot of "old" car guys would get more involved if they realized how fast these cars can be with very little done.

It amazes me how many die hard GM guys dismiss these cars. If they don't go to the track and see one of these cars run high 11's with little more than a converter and tires. They'll never know. I swear, nearly every article in main stream magazines about LS1's shows cars that are embarsingly slow.

How about some articles on some of these bolt on LS1 cars knocking off 11.3's & 11.4's.

BTW: Say hi to Herny D <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

Almost every suggestion listed here would interest me and would result in my buying your mag. I do, however, think that it would be nice to start w/ the basics first, then get more involved in the mods/mechanics. Sure, it may bore some of the real hardcore and experienced guys, but they'd realize that better things are coming and sometimes it's nice to visit the basics. By starting off with the basics, it could also be somewhat scientific w/ respect to modifications, since mods ranging from simple to advanced could be done and DYNO'd. Not sure if your advertisers would like that, but the readers would.

gm_jim,

I heard you the first time - just kidding. You are not alone. There are many people who would like more LS1 coverage. I fully understand if you don't want to renew (or subscribe to CHP). I am trying to offer some change to the magazine in a freelance writer role. Perhaps you can check on the magazine periodically and if you like the issue buy it. If CHP starts having more LS1 coverage (as we all would like) perhaps you may want to re-subscribe. You strongest vote is your dollar - spend it wisely.

I'm looking at the March 2002 issues of CHP and GMHTP. CHP has a Camaromania story on pg 18 and a latest parts list article on pg 62 that has parts that have been discussed on camaro message boards for 6 months (understand that the magazine lags a couple months because of production), but still. GMHTP has an LS1 exhaust and air lid article on pg 29, pg 32 has a DOT race tire article that applies to us, a short blurb on the LG motorsports camaro on pg 42, and has pictures of 2 LS1's in their street heat section.

I see it - you see it - I'm trying to make the magazine see it.

Gearhead,

You are right. The articles I have suggested are not really the basics. CHP and I are working on a new article now. I think the next article after this should go back to the basics like using autotap. Then after some time, move to more advanced articles - like you said!

Anyone have some basic/fundamental article suggestions?
