Okay, I want to go true dual....
What will I need? I will be swapping everything from the headers on back.....
I'm thinking of:
Dynatech Longtube Headers 1 7/8" $479.00
Then a custom pipe running from each header into some high flow cats $300.00
that will then join in a x-pipe $180.00
then run some more pipe out of the x-pipe and attatch a bullet muffler on each pipe $?
and then throw some exhaust tips on that bad boy $40.00
How much are the bullet muffers?
What size piping do I run throughout the whole thing 2 1/2" or 3" This will determine if I get a 2 1/2" or 3" X-Pipe.
Will this work?

Or you can do this if your car isn't lowered:

Dynatechs
2.5" tubing
Flowmaster Deltaflow 40-series mufflers
4" truck tips
All under the axle
Have about 3-4 inches of clearance. Sounds great!

Reckless...I’ll bet that setup sounds amazing!
Wicked LS1...Bullet mufflers from Dynomax are about $30/$40 a piece.

Give HP Performance a call. They do true dual exhaust. It gives you a LOT of RWHP (25-30). A friend got the exhaust and went from running 106mph to 109mph+ (same conditions, nothing else changed).

Like I said though, I bet it sounds great.

Todd,
did you dyno your new setup? What is your engine combo now? I am curious to how the dual 2.5 is working for you
Thanks!

I know the previous true dual setup Steve Frank had was extremely awesome. Sounded very clean and mean.
I know that he now has the dynatech headers to true dual, but don't know the specifics. I bet it sounds awesome.

First of all, I can get you an X pipe for $75.
What you will need: I would attach the cats right to the headers & work from there.
The guy that does mine makes the exhaust for $350-400. That is over the axles. That should give you an idea on cost.
Pipe is cheap, it's the labor that gets you. Bullets are $36 from Summit & Jegs. You will be very please with the results after getting duals.

Me and my muffler man made true duels for mine and total cost including 2 cheap 3" bullits and a home made X-Pipe was $200. The sound is great and it flows much better than my Randomtech.
I only have about 3-4" of clearance. It's only an issue with speed bumps. Mufflers scrape a little.
Chris, I dynoed 356/380 NA running a little rich. That was stock MAF and stock TB. Still have the 9:1 motor with 352cid. Not bad for a low compression 87 octane motor

Well hell I am definetly interested in that $75 x-pipe! What size is it? 2 1/2" or 3" I am definetly going to go over the axles. Now I noticed on the dynatech headers you have to buy the collectors separtely. Would I bolt in the headers, then the collector, and then cut the collector short and weld in the cat and then piping, x-pipe, etc... Or do I weld the cat to the end of the 12" collector?
Reckless, the collectors don't come with the headers do they? They have to be purchased seperately for $100.00 right....??

I guess it depends on who you get them from. If you buy from Jay Billingsley, he ships the headers with the collectors of your choice. A guy out here in Hawaii ordered from Jegs. Well, Jegs didn't tell him he needed collectors, and now he has to find collectors for them.
Wherever you get them from, ensure you get collectors also!

Here is what I think is a good setup
Hooker longtubes
Dual 3 inch carsound or CnL cats right off the collectors (Have to be emissions legal
dual straight 3 inch pieces into 3 inch Xpipe
come off the xpipe into spintech 3inch oval tubing under the axle (the narrowest spintech tubing, cant remember the measurements)
Then go back to regular 3 inch tubing into dual 3 inch dynomax race bullets or Borla XR-1's into dual 3.5 inch tailpipes
You would have the same exit setup as Todds but be full three inch all the way back with the same ground clearance under the axle as Todds setup. (On the drivers side you may need to use sections of spintech 3 inch tubing before the Xpipe.
That would flow CRAZY amounts of air and still exit out the back AND be emissions legal
Cheers,
Chris

i think it would be cool to see lt's into cats into ovan tubing with a custom oval x or h and jsut shove the oval pipe straight out in front of the rear wheels.
