Default Questions for Dart Head Owners w/Beehive Valve Springs

The Dart heads have been out about a year now. Out of the box they come with PSI beehive springs, which are supposed to be excellent springs. I put 5K miles on mine this year. Trying to figure out what the change interval is going to be on these springs.

How many miles do you have on your Dart springs and with what cam?

About 4,000 miles daily driving here with a G5X3 on 114 split. No problems so far.

Interesting post by Katech recently, they evaluated a bunch of springs for use on their 427 heads and picked these springs

Beehives are a kick *** spring, just short of a Magic Stick/T-Rex it can handle most cams lift.

I dont have a ton of miles but I went ahead and put a new set of springs on along with a new set of seals after a year. Bought them from Dart. There wasnt a lot of differene measuring the old and new ones but I beat mine up pretty good and figured I'd replace them.

The biggest thing that kill's the valve springs is having a car sit for long periods of time.Springs can go bad fast in cars that are stored for the winter month's.I've seen it alot.If you store your car either undo the rockers or turn the motor over every couple of weeks.

Wow. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I try to drive mine in the winter as much as possible, but it's hard when we're getting pounded with snow (like now).

I've got about 7-8k on mine so far with a 228/230 xer and 1.75 rollers. Puts my lift just at .605/609. No problems with the springs yet! Maybe the rhoads lifters will help a bit? I drive it pretty hard to, just like everything else unfortunate enough to be driven by me.
