You're going to need a larger hole in the NW throttle body blade. They come way too small from NW...smaller than even the factory hole.

Have people been having idle problems? I've had my NW 90 on for a month and haven't had any issues at all.

this might not be the smartest question to you but is that normal?? I mean why would they make it like that? Is that the reason TSP has another TB forsale besides the NW???

It can be a significant factor if your tps won't reset to 0% after you've cracked the throttle blade. When running a big cam, it's important to have your IAC counts in the 30-50 range at idle with the AC off. With the stock hole in the NW TB blade, your IAC counts will probably be over 100. To get them down below 50, you'll either need to crack the throttle blade and set your TPS back to 0% (which works sometimes, sometimes not), or drill out the TB blade to a larger diameter. This is a critical element of driveability tuning.

I drilled mine out before I put it on. It does look smaller than a stock. Which I also drilled out on my first cam install. To get it to idle. It worked like a champ.
Sounds crazy but I kept going bigger until it idled. On the stocker I mean. I ended up with a 3/16" hole I think.

The hole is just not big enough to let a decent size cam idle through that little hole. With out cracking the blade a little and reseting the TPS.

A sponser here Synergy motorsports (dyno-tuner, mine obvoiusly) said drilling the throttle body blade is bad news, but what do I know, mine's not drilled

Well, i measured and the stock hole is about 3/16th. I went ahead and opened up some. The worst thing that will do is cause the IAC counts to be low....which really ain't that bad as I know from tuning a 306 on a 110° cammed LT1 355.

Deck 2 Ready

Bolt holes done! I tried my idea of wet/dry vac and long straws. Worked perfect I followed up with paper towels just to make certain the bolt hole was clean and they are bone dry and with out partials. Most of the thread gunk was sucked out by the wet/dry vac but I did chase them before the final vacuum pass.

Jeff I'll try to take pictures and measure the hole.

And yes one could screw up the hole by going to big. And I think it would idle about 2K. LOL. There's always a fix. Fill it and re drill it.

Jeff are those FLP headers? I had a set like that. Don't know if it helps, but if you feel inside the primary openings you can feel a little bit of weld were they weld the flang on. I took and ported then out just enough to flatten the welds down.
I noticed when I got my QTPs they were already done by them.

Not saying you should do this, just throwing it out there. It might not be worth the time. It took me 3hrs and they would need to come out.

Those are hookers and I did the finger check as well They were rather smooth!

Let me know on the size you drilled. I'm not too worried, 3/16 is the same size as stock. If it didn't help anything it certainly won't hurt anything either.

Those heads look great on there. Glad to see you cleaned off those carbon deposits on the pistons, some of those looked nasty.

Very nice man! Your car looks like a pleasure to work on...all nice and clean like they should all be. Your garage and everything looks like a great place to wrench with everything neat and organized. What size cam are you going with incase I missed that somewhere?

looks great, so you sanded the block with 800 grit sand paper, then went over it with rubbing alcohol?
